As part of the celebration of our 200th anniversary, we will have local pianist and church member George Bixler perform a piano recital.

To highlight the church’s anniversary, the program will feature several of George’s hymn arrangements.  However, a variety of classical, popular and jazz selections will also be presented, assuring that there should be something for every musical taste.

George Bixler, piano, is a graduate of Bluffton College with a dual major in business administration and music.  George began playing piano at age 5, and studied under Alberta Berg of Dalton, as well as James Bixel and Jean Szabo while at Bluffton.  An eclectic musician with a wide variety of musical interests, he has performed in a wide variety of solo and ensemble settings, including solo recitals in Ohio and Pennsylvania, The Messiah, An Evening with the Piano, over 50 weddings, and many other church and community venues.
